Chats & Crafts – January

The first Chats & Crafts session began with emptying the craft case onto a couple of tables slid together. Items I had re-purposed, saved, purchased and collected made for a happy spread. I was delighted that the grown-ups dived into the case, with the kids. Cakes and cuppas in the cosy ambience of the cafe made for a fun afternoon.

Colouring, word search, dot to dot and card making were popular. We chatted about places in nature to visit and favourite TV shows of the moment. Lemon drizzle and orange cupcakes were devoured swiftly! As people coloured busily, we talked about new topics that we’d begun this term – Deserts, Vikings and Galileo – to name a few.

The kids enjoyed doing different things. Though I’ve kept the craft case simple in its contents (to appeal to all ages), there was enough productivity going on to produce some great art, colouring and word searching! The 90 minutes flew by as other visitors to the cafe mingled, chatted and moved on… we were in a little craft bubble.

The next CHATS & CRAFTS is 1.30pm – 3.00pm Thursday 13th February then 12th March 2020. The club is free and open to home-educating parents and their children (up to age 16 plus siblings). Come along, grab some refreshments and enjoy some time with other home educating families.
